Apiro
Nestled between Lake Castreccioni (Cingoli Lake) and Monte San Vicino, Apiro, 4 km from Casa dei miei Amici, enjoys a splendid panorama. The artificial Cingoli Lake, where it is also possible to swim, is an important tourist destination of Apiro as well as Monte San Vicino, which invites to numerous beautiful walks in the central Apennines. The old town of Apiro, with a beautiful piazza where the internationally known folklore festival is held in the summer, is picturesquely surrounded by castle walls.
Cingoli
From Cingoli, 11 km away, the balcony of the Marche, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view as far as the Adriatic Sea and Monte Conero. Cingoli has been rightly awarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Its history, which can be experienced in the archaeological museum, dates back to the
to the Aeneolithic period, about 5000 years ago. In the ninth century BC the area was inhabited by the Picenes. The old town, closed to traffic, with Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, stands out for the warm colors of its facades, harmoniously interrupted by the stone of the elegant Renaissance portals . Cupramontana
Known as the "capital of Verdicchio", Cupramonta, located 4 km from Casa dei miei Amici and 505 meters above sea level, is an insider's tip for good food and wine. Cupra was a fertility goddess of the Picenes and Umbrians. The Roman settlement was of some importance as a municipium and later came under the rule of the Duke of Spoleto. On the first weekend of October the wine festival (Sagra dell' Uva) is celebrated here. But also on other occasions you can enjoy the excellent Verdicchio wine of the region.
Jesi
Jesi is a town of 40,318 inhabitants in the province of Ancona, Marche region in central Italy near the port city of Ancona on the Esino River. Jesi was for a long time the center of a small city-state. On the other side of the Esino grows the famous white wine Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. The town gained historical fame when Frederick II was born in 1194 in a tent in the market square. from Casa dei mini Amici with a 20 minutes drive you can reach Jesi Centrum.
